EN The penultimate weekend of this year's EP took place at the track named after Maris Strombergs in Valmiera, Latvia. The number of starters barely exceeded 500, but the weaker participation was to be expected given this year's calendar. Even so, famous names appeared at the start. Next year, the UEC European Championship will be held on this track, so it certainly didn't hurt to try out the local track. Evropský pohár In the combined Women Championships category, Eliška Bartuňková finished fourth on Saturday and third on Sunday. The Men U23 category had two Czech representatives, namely Marko Neužil and Vojtěch Polesný. Neužil followed up on the victory from the recent MČR and took first place on Saturday, then finished the race on Sunday in silver. Vojtěch Polesný made it to the semi-finals on both days, but did not go through the gates to the final. Junior Jakub Cidlinský finished fifth in his category's final on Saturday. Sunday's Junior Men race ended not only for Cidlinski, but also for Víto Gruntorád in the semi-finals. Elen Lapková (Girls 15/16) scored another podium finish, namely second place on Saturday and third place on Sunday. Vít Novotný took the highest place in the Boys 15/16 race on Saturday, and had to settle for eighth place on Sunday. Our riders became Saturday's Challenge category finalists. Jáchym Černý placed fourth (category Cruiser 17/29), Martin Barabáš fourth and Lukáš Smrž seventh (category Cruiser 40+), Boys 10 was won by Tadeáš Vlk, Ondřej Průcha finished eighth (category Boys 11), Dominika Vysocká took second place (category Girls 11/12). Cat. Boys 13 had three Czech riders in the final, namely second Adam Peterek, fifth David Lapka and sixth Matyáš Krnáč, Štěpánka Fremlová finished seventh in the Girls 13/14 category, Ondřej Lux took sixth place in the Boys 14 category and Robin Peterek took seventh place in the Men 17+ category. Sunday's finalists: Jáchym Černý (7th place - Cruiser 17/39), Cruiser 40+ with three Czech finalists, namely fifth Martin Barabáš, sixth Lukáš Smrž and eighth Michal Novotný. Saturday's winner of the Boys 10 category, Tadeáš Vlk, also won on Sunday, but he had three of his compatriots in the final, namely sixth Markus Grund, seventh Matyáš Karel Klapetek and eighth Vít Uhr. Ondřej Průcha finished seventh in the Boys 11 category, Dominika Vysocká this time third (Girls 11/12). Cat. Boys 13 had two of our riders on the podium, silver Adam Peterek and bronze Matyáš Krnáč. Štěpánka Fremlová finished third in the Girls 13/14 category, and Robin Peterek took the same place in the Men 17+ category. On September 7 and 8, this year's European Cup will end in Ravels, Belgium.
