So far, she has fulfilled the role of one of the favorites and with the second place in the qualifying race behind the Latvian Veronika Monika Stūriska, she easily secured a place in the quarterfinals. As the only one from the Czech team, she will also fight for medals in Sunday's races. Marko Neužil's performance among elite men also deserves at least a partial discharge. His excellent season was significantly slowed down by an injury from the World Cup in Papendal in the Netherlands in June, which caused him to miss the European Championship. However, the long racing break took its toll in Brisbane. He took fourth place in the first run and advanced to the round of 16. He fought bravely in it, but finished fifth, i.e. on the first non-progressive place. Damage. Junior Elen Lapková has had a bad day. In her first run, she lost speed shortly after the start, which proved fatal. On the second jump, she landed on the front wheel, followed by a heavy fall over the handlebars. Result? End of hope, transport on a stretcher and transfer to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a broken collarbone. Among the elite women, Eliška Bartuňková was far from advancing to Sunday's fights. She finished sixth in her opening race and was also unsuccessful in the repair, where she finished fourth. At the same time, only the two fastest female competitors advanced to the next stage. A pair of Czech representatives in the men's under-23 category did the same. Jakub Klement finished seventh in the first heat and did not succeed even in the repair, where he crossed the finish line in fourth. Only the top two advanced. Jakub Vesecký was about to know the continuation. He finished fifth in the first run, just three-tenths of a second short of advancing. His elimination in the repair was even closer. He finished third and was only 19 thousandths of a second behind the Italian Federico Paso.
