EN On the first Sunday of March, the BMX Commission welcomed another and for this winter the last guest of the educational events for coaches and managers, the Spanish former rider and national team coach Alejandro Alcojor. He was not the only one, as our main referee Martin Barabáš followed him up. Administrativa Alejandro prepared a workshop for us on the topic of sports training for BMX riders. He showed us the system he works with and thanks to that we had the chance to see under the hood how bicross is done in sunny Spain. With regard to the basis of sports preparation, the management of training units and the main coaching and educational principles, everything corresponds to what previous guests told about, and what is also taught at domestic sports faculties or coaching training. However, it was very interesting to be able to analyze a specific illustrative training plan that Alejandro uses in his work. At the same time, he emphasized different age categories and the appropriate level of load and representation of the game component. He himself said that, for example, sprint training somewhere on the street is important, but it is an activity that is inherently not fun. The rider must be really motivated internally, and such motivation is not yet sufficiently developed in children. Next, there was a video analysis, where he described to us the details he checks during training starts. In the afternoon, Martin Barabáš spoke, discussing the individual levels of punishment that can be given during the racing days. Each of the possible punishments given was accompanied by an explanation and illustrative situations, in which it was easier to understand the reason why the given step of the referees occurs at the races. The so-called with an electronic pencil, we analyzed not only the incidents that took place during last year's Olympic BMX Racing race. In both Olympic cases, it was about crossing the lines, which is probably the most common misdemeanor of all. This season is already around the corner. The BMX and VSCM Talent Team representatives are waiting for a joint training session in Verona, Italy, at the end of the week.
