This year, Matyáš Krnáč shined with fifth place at the World Championship in the Boys 14 category and is one of the most outstanding young talents of Czech BMX Racing. Rozhovory Looking back on this season, which moment do you remember the most and why? Definitely the finish line from the semi-finals of the World Cup in Denmark. At that moment, my dream of going to the final of the World Cup came true. What do you think was the key to achieving such a great result and W5 in your very first start at the World Championship? Regular and hard training and the motivation to be among the top are definitely behind this. Immediately after the World Cup, you said that the result was still not completely over your head. How do you feel today? Do you realize with the passage of time how exceptional your success was? It certainly happens to me with the passage of time, even when I'm riding my dream world table. You have just been awarded as the Prague cycling personality. What does this recognition mean to you? Of course, it's a great honor to be publicly recognized and to rank alongside names like Viktor Chudoba or Marek Neužil. This is also why I appreciate this award. What motivates you to continue and work on yourself in BMX? I am motivated by the desire to achieve better and better results. At the same time, I still have goals that I would like to achieve. Does any of the Czech or international BMX riders have a style or technique that inspires you and you try to adopt something from it? Honestly, I never had a sports role model. I try to focus more on myself and do it my way. Do you have a long-term dream or goal that you would like to fulfill in the coming years? I certainly have. I would like to improve the result from the European Championship next year and win the title of national champion. What do you want to focus on in preparation for next season? Is there anything you would like to move on? Winter training has already started and I will do everything to make it happen according to the training plan. At the same time, I would like to advance the technique on the bike. In addition to bicross, do you do another sport that you enjoy or that helps you in your preparation? After the season and in preparation I like enduro/DH. I also do other sports, but only recreationally. What would you say to young riders who follow you and would one day like to do something similar to you? I would like to tell them that bicross must be fun for them. Then you have to believe in yourself and follow your dream. It may not work at first, but gradually the work will pay off. Why do you think kids should come to the BMX track and give the sport a chance? For me, bicross is fun and adrenaline. I always look forward to the training sessions, but also to the races. It also makes it a great way to learn to ride a bike.
