EN On the weekend of June 6 and 7, 2026, the 5th and 6th races of the Czech Bicross League 2026 took place on the bicross track in Nižbor. The whole event was organized by the home club BMX Nižbor, which ensured that the races ran smoothly for riders and spectators. The championship of the Central Bohemian region is the icing on the cake Saturday's 5th race of the Czech Bicross League was also important for another reason - it was also rated as a Central Bohemian Region Championship race. The male and female riders in the individual categories did not start only for league points, but also for the title of Champion of the Central Bohemian Region, which added motivation to competitors from the Central Bohemian clubs for better sports performance. Record participation and pleasant conditions He wished the competitors and fans of bicross the weekend. The sunny and warm weather created a pleasant backdrop for the races, and the proximity of the Berounka River attracted visitors not only to watch the races, but also to refresh themselves in the water and relax on the pleasant beach below Nižbor Castle. The result was record interest from competitors. 187 riders took part in Saturday's race and 173 participants in Sunday's. Our races are primarily intended for competitors from the Czech Republic, but we welcomed and were very pleased that riders from Moravia and even Germany arrived. The well-prepared track then enabled all competitors to demonstrate their sportsmanship under very decent technical conditions. Organization and wishes for the future The organizing team of the Nižbor BMX club tried to ensure a smooth course of the races, which in the end managed to be maintained without complications and without serious falls and injuries. Nevertheless, the organizers themselves admit one persistent weakness – the provision of refreshments for the riders and their companions. The club has so far been unable to find a reliable and high-quality supplier of this service, and therefore the club would welcome any tips and recommendations from race participants, visitors and readers. The record participation also brought higher income from the entry fee, which the club will fully invest in the reconstruction and modernization of the track after the end of this season. The municipality of Nižbor will also participate financially in the reconstruction. After completion, the Nijbor track should be significantly more attractive for competitors - in combination with the planned improvement of the refreshment facilities, excellent racing weekends in the years to come. Nižbor also shined in the field of glass art The weekend events in Nižbor were not limited to bi-cross races. In the world-famous Rückl glass factory, which is located directly in Nižbor, the World Glass Cutting Championship was also held on the same date. This prestigious event was accompanied by a rich cultural program, which included two live concerts - on Friday and Saturday evenings. This weekend, Nižbor offered a really varied program for all types of visitors and age groups. What awaits us next? The season for BMX Nižbor is not over yet. In autumn, the club is preparing pump track races on the new asphalt pump track in Zaječov, which will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026. All bicross and pump track fans are cordially invited!
