Report: 5. a 6. kolo Sazka Českého poháru BMX, Favorit Brno
EN

The spring part of the Sazek Czech BMX Cup is behind us. After two stops in Prague, the continuation of the series moved to the Moravian metropolis. The local TJ Favorit Brno section prepared an excellently prepared track for us, including a new third turn and the finish line. This innovation was definitely a step forward, and the very technical final straight really got the riders going. The qualifying criterion for the possibility to start at the Sazka Championship of the Czech Republic, i.e. the necessity to participate in at least two spring ČP races, attracted perhaps a record number of starters and with a total number of 382 riders we are already approaching the number 400!!

Závody

They left for Brno with concerns about the weather, as the forecast called for cold, rainy days and very strong winds. The rain eventually dropped out of the game and the wind became the biggest factor, which fortunately was not sideways on any of the straights.

A lot of categories already compete with such a number of drivers as standard that quarter-final races are becoming a regular part of domestic races. That's definitely good! The fastest Men Junior-U23-Elite category has so far reached the semi-final races with its number of starters and is getting better and better every year. Looking at this year's Boys 15/16 category, the question arises as to how many sophomore riders will progress to juniors next year. Some riders definitely have the potential and I hope they go after this chance to race with our fastest!

The Men Junior-U23-Elite category is so evenly matched this year that it is almost impossible to bet on a winner. However, this does not yet apply in the Boys 15/16 or Boys 7 category. Viktor Oldřich Chudoba from Republika, who is in excellent form, won the fastest category on Saturday, and Jakub Vesecký from Venice on Sunday. In the Boys 15/16 category, Jan Hanus from Venice took the top spot for the fifth and sixth time, and Laura Tejmarová from Bohnica (Boys 7) holds the same invincibility.
