EN Bicross season 2025 officially started! On the penultimate Saturday in March, the Prague branch of Bikrosclub Řepy organized the traditional opener of the season, i.e. the Openseason 2025 race. The fact that the winter break was long is also evidenced by the fact that 259 riders, not only from the Czech Republic, presented themselves at the start of the race. Závody If there's one thing you can't rely on in recent years, it's the weather. Either it was wished for, or the head of the Rap club, Lukáš Tamme, has supernatural abilities. Either way, apart from the occasional gusty wind, everyone involved enjoyed the pleasant weather and a good warm-up before the European Cup in Verona, Italy. According to the proposals today, the pro section was one of the options that could overcome the local track. This choice was valid not only for the Men 17+/Elite category, but also for the Boys 15/16 category. Riders who compete in the Championship category Men Junior, U 23 and Elite at the ČP races always rode through the professional section. That's how it should be. What was a pleasant surprise was the fact that a few riders from Boys 15/16 also took advantage of this option. Krupský Matěj Pavka and Litoměřice Petr Soubusta Jr. tested themselves beyond normal racing. Above all, Pavka was quite successful, although he then paid a toll for the longer distance, slower pace and subsequent overtaking of riders going through the mini section. However, as training and preparation for future transfer to higher categories, this challenge is only good. Riders from Řeppo took advantage of the home environment and also the opportunity to train on the track even in the winter months. Their current good riding form was visible and at the end of the day they took the top spot in six categories. One of them was Tobias Bleier, who won in the Boys 15/16 category ahead of Ondřej Hendrych (SC BMX Venátky) and Ondřej Lux (TJ Favorit Brno). In the Men 17+/Elite category, domestic competitor Viktor Oldřich Chudoba (Men Junior) could follow his younger teammates, but finished a close second. Today, Venetian Jakub Cidlinský (Men U23) proved to be more than Viktor's strength. They were joined on the podium by Vít Novotný from Favorit Brno (Men Junior). During the following week, a large part of domestic riders will move to Verona, where the European BMX Racing Cup will begin.
