EN

For the first time in its history, the Opava section of SK Jantar Opava took on the organization of the largest domestic race, the Sazka Championship of the Czech Republic. A total of 335 competitors in 22 categories competed at the start of Saturday's race. Sunday belonged to the club competition.

Závody

The championship weekend was marked by sunny weather and fast driving, which resulted in the competitors falling here and there. The vast majority of falls were without major consequences, which unfortunately was not the case with Jakub Hnídák from Řep. He suffered multiple fractures. We all wish him a speedy recovery!

The knowledge that the championship title was at stake meant an interesting spectacle for the spectators, when in several cases the winner was decided only at the finish line. Some managed to defend their title from last year, others not. Who was finally crowned with the title of champion of the Czech Republic for 2025?

The riders of the TJ Favorit Brno team took home the highest number of championship jerseys from Saturday's race, a total of six. The riders of Bikrosclub Řepy managed to capture one less jersey, and the riders of the TJ Slovan Bohnice-BMX team took home three titles.

The second day traditionally belonged to the Sazka Championship of the Czech Republic for teams. The slightly smaller turnout of 296 drivers was made up for by the importance of each run as drivers collected points for their four-man teams throughout the course of the race. Before the final races, two teams from Pardubice held the first two places, followed by the Haas Bohnice team in third place. In the end, the final runs significantly mixed up the overall standings.

The team champions of the Czech Republic were the riders of the Řepy 1 team (182 points) consisting of Matěj Novák, Radim Průcha, Max Roškot and Mia Roškotová. The riders of the Pardubice pink team finished second (178 points), consisting of Alan Pětioký, Dominik Ráliš, Tomáš Souček and Sebastián Štěpánek. The third place was taken by the riders of the Řepy 2 team (167 points) consisting of Šimon Aksamit, Radek Houška, Matyáš Krnáč and Jakub Novák.

The attention of a large part of the domestic riders will now shift abroad, as the European Championship in Valmiera, Latvia and the World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark are on the program. At the end of August, the carousel of Czech races will start again, including the remaining two weekends of the Sazka Czech Cup, and we can also look forward to the UEC European Cup race in Venice nad Jizerou, which will be held on September 5-7.

Finally, we would like to thank SK Jantar Opava for organizing the Sazka Championship of the Czech Republic!
