Mára, you have completed another winter preparation. How did it go?

Well, winter preparation was a little more complicated this year. I had an abdominal hernia operation in December, so I was out of training for a month and a half, but then I caught up at training sessions in France and Switzerland.

Was it possible to make up for the aforementioned deficiency? Are there any changes for you?

I think I managed to catch up. After yesterday's result (7th place, 1st EP, cat. Men U23) I think it's not so bad. There are changes, I'm in a new team at the UCI center.

What made you move to Aigle, Switzerland?

Well, the offer itself is not rejected. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try to give it my all.

Was it difficult to get there? How long was the clearance process? And did anyone help you with that?

It was discussed for about two years, the offer was always there, but it was not realized before. The invitation finally came from the UCI center and with the help of the national coach Lukáš Tamme it was put together.

Who all participates financially in this?

The Czech Cycling Association (BMX discipline) and my club TJ Slovan Bohnice-BMX take part in it.

Tell us about how athletes live and train in Aigle?

I have to say it's like a dream. Our only concern is to prepare for training. We have a lot of people around us who take care of us, masseurs, assistants, trainers. It's great.

How is your typical day in the center?

We usually have training on the track in the morning because then the wind picks up. We get up around seven o'clock, we go to breakfast. Then we ride our bikes to the track, warm up, and train for about three hours. We also have lunch and in the afternoon a second training session or free time, or regeneration.

Does staying in the center meet your expectations?

Certainly! Like I said, it's like a dream. I couldn't have wished for anything better and I hope it lasts as long as possible.

What about you and your racing program this year?

The program depends on the coach's decision, but we plan to compete in almost all races. Participation in the French and Swiss Cups will be new for me. I'm looking forward to those, the competition will be great.

What about the Czech fans? Will they be able to see you at domestic races as well?

Unfortunately, probably not. I will take part in the MČR in Opava, and if I have time off, maybe in other domestic races at the end of the season.
