This year's busy Olympic season has already started. The southern hemisphere is currently experiencing the summer season, which is great for outdoor sports. The BMX Racing World Cup has thus fully kicked off, namely in New Zealand (1st and 2nd rounds of the SP) and in Australia (3rd and 4th rounds of the SP). Our representatives were also present at the start, namely Sabina Košárková, Marek Neužil and Vojtěch Polesný.

Závody

The first stop was New Zealand, the city of Rotorua. The bicross track here offered perhaps the biggest jump of all in the men's section, so there was no shortage of dramatic rides. Unfortunately, Marek Neužil experienced the difficulty of the track firsthand. While he was leading his ride, he lost speed on the section and came into contact with the Italian rider. As a result of the fall, he fractured his wrist and lost his participation in the remaining three rounds of the WC in the southern hemisphere. Vojtěch Polesný gained a lot of experience and took 46th and 47th place from New Zealand. Our only representative of the fairer sex, Sabina Košárková, improved her mood with 6th place on Sunday after placing in the semi-finals on Saturday!

Two weeks after the first two rounds, the World Cup carousel moved to Brisbane, Australia. Sabina Košárková finished both race days just before the gates of the final. Vojtěch Polesný made it all the way to the quarter-finals in Saturday's race and recorded his best result so far at SP races. In the last, fourth race, he finished 43rd.

The Czech BMX National Team and the Talent Team will move to Verona, Italy on Tuesday, where they will concentrate on the track that will host the European Championship this year.
